
Elwin "Trey" R. Thrasher, III was born in 1966 in Gainesville, Florida. He and his family moved to Tallahassee from Spain when he was five years old. He has lived in Tallahassee ever since, except for his time spent in Gainesville to attend college and law school. He graduated from the University of Florida with honors in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Two years later, he earned his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law.
He represents primarily corporate and financial institution clients and devotes his practice to creditors' rights, bankruptcy law, commercial litigation, real property litigation and the defense of consumer protection lawsuits filed against his institutional and corporate clients. He also has a concentration in landlords' rights and commercial and residential leasing issues and related real estate matters. In this area of his practice, he files hundreds of eviction actions every year and frequently lectures for the National Apartment Association's Certified Apartment Manager course.

Personal: Trey lives in Tallahassee with his wife Bonnie and their sons, Justin (b. 2001) and Andrew (b. 1998) . In his free time, Trey enjoys watching Florida Gator football, playing league soccer, long distance running, competing in triathlons and computer programming.
