Chad D. Heckman was born on June 23, 1973, in Rockford, Illinois and was raised in Dixon, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1996. Thereafter, he lived and worked in Chicago for an international corporation in sales before moving to San José, Costa Rica to live, work and study from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, Chad returned to the United States, and began his studies at the Florida State University College of Law. Chad received his law degree in 2001 and was admitted to the Florida Bar later that same year. In 2009, after practicing with another firm representing primarily financial institution clients throughout Florida, Chad formed Thrasher & Heckman, P.A. with Elwin and Trey Thrasher.
Chad regularly speaks and writes on topics relating to creditor rights, bankruptcy, foreclosure law and related litigation. He represents primarily corporate and financial institution clients and devotes his practice to creditors' rights, bankruptcy law, commercial litigation, real property litigation and the defense of consumer protection lawsuits filed against his institutional and corporate clients.

Personal: Chad and his wife Jennifer are the parents of twins, Everett and Juliette (b. 2006), and Maddox (b. 2007). In his free time, Chad is a busy dad, an avid road cyclist and runner.
